MasterMind Group for Women Leaders
How do you know what’s next?
How different are you today that you were a year ago? Five years ago?
We change so much in a year.
Let me ask you a question: were you intentional about your growth over the last year? Or did life just happen to you?
Maybe the answer is a little of both.
So, I’m putting together a new group: a Leader Mastermind group I’m running for women starting in September. It’s a great place to meet other people managers who are looking for a small group to confide in, share issues with, get advice from, and maybe even make friends.
Here are the details:
September – May (the group will set the exact day to meet each month based on schedules)
Included:
- Monthly meetings for 90 minutes (we will meet virtually and can include some in-person when it is safer)
- Three 1:1 private coaching sessions with Cynthia
- Leadership Style Assessment
- Power and Likeability Assessment
- Private Facebook Group for topic discussions in between
- Size is limited so we can all have a chance to talk and get to know each other.
What are the meetings like?
The purpose of this Mastermind is to help you form friendships with fellow female leaders outside of your company… women with whom you can be really honest, to whom you can give advice, and from whom you can receive help.
If I’ve learned anything, it’s that when you gather a group of savvy leaders together, the answer is in the room. We will tee up a topic each month (some I will set, some you will set). I will deliver some teaching on the subject, and then we will facilitate discussions, make plans, ask advice, and hold each other accountable for growing!
Topics can include:
Managing up
How can you have the most productive relationship with a good manager? How about with a manager with whom you don’t mesh? This workshop will give you ideas to deal with your particular leader. We will workshop your relationship with your manager and you will leave with specific relationship-building tools that will protect and promote you!
What’s your big goal here? Leading from your values
Do you lead from your values? Have you defined them? How can you manifest those values in your actions as a leader? This workout will tackle helping you get clearer on your values and developing a plan to begin taking those values from internal to external so your team can learn from them.
Getting recognized for your work
What are some ways to promote yourself without seeming arrogant? In the end, we are all responsible for our own career paths and tracking our accomplishments. How can you develop a system to track your wins throughout the year and make them known in a way that people will delight in (not recoil from!). Set the tone and teach your teams how to respectfully advocate for and promote themselves as well.
Are you more Powerful or Likeable?
Being persuasive means achieving a balance of perceived power (credibility and sway) with likeability (warmth and goodwill). Take the assessment and learn ways to increase your credibility or your perceived warmth and develop a plan to work on your weaker side this month.
Culture plan
Culture is built through conversations and relationships. Each encounter you have with a team member is an opportunity to build (or tear down) productive culture. Use this hour to build out a monthly plan to build/reinforce the culture you want on your team. We will discuss basic instructional design and help you find ways to deliberately reinforce the culture you want to build inside your team.
“Bring” your Whiner to work day
Let’s face it, we all have a team member who doesn’t mix well with our own personalities. In this workshop, we will brainstorm as a group on ways we can adapt to them, hold strong boundaries with them, influence them, and establish a clear race route that you both can respect.
Managing your energy
Let’s get some back! What time of day do you work best? What are you spinning your wheels on? What can you delegate? Track your day and share some best practices on how you manage your energy to tackle the steepest hills.
Developing new habits
We will talk research behind making enduring changes in your life and then hold you accountable.
Leadership style assessment and results
What is your style and how does it help or hurt you? We all tend to approach others the way we like to be approached (preferred style), but not everyone is like us. What are the other styles, and how can you adapt to make someone’s way easier instead of being an obstacle to them? Conversely, how can you make your style known so that others have an “operational guide” to working with you?
Developing your team’s bench strength
Is your team strong enough to operate without you? In this workshop, we will identify whose hand you are grabbing next to propel forward in the race and plan how to develop their leadership skills over the year.
Presentation skills
Whether in person or on web cam, people draw conclusions about you and your company from how well (or poorly!) you communicate. This topic is really a two-day training to learn: How to open a presentation to hook the listener, build credibility, organize your main points using Quick Models, bring your data to life through elaboration techniques and storytelling, handle difficult questions, closing with a clear call to action, and, most importantly, making your body behave and look “natural” when you are freaking out. But, if you only have two hours, pick one of these topics and we will polish you right up.
Investment:
- $3,600 for the 9-month program (pay $400 a month or all at once)
